Carbon Neutral

Feel free to use this jpg i made.

To be ‘Carbon Neutral’ means to calculate the amount of greenhouse gas emissions your life creates, and paying to reduce the equivalent emissions from entering the atmosphere somewhere else through the planting of trees, methane combustion or other energy renewable and conservation projects. This is equivalent to emissions trading, but without the strict regulations and legalities. Companies and people who wish to combat the degradation in the earth’s atmosphere voluntarily purchase Carbon Offsets as there are no laws mandating it.

The average person produces 2.5tonnes of CO2 yearly while an adult tree only absorbs 22kg of CO2 annually. Therefore it’ll take a hundred trees to balance one person’s emission.

Singapore currently has no campaign or movement encouraging corporate and public entities or individuals to go Carbon Neutral. So spread the word.

Calculate how much carbon you are generating HERE.

As such, i’m putting my plant up for sponsorship to act as a carbon offset for whoever wants to move towards achieving Carbon Neutral status.
